E-TRANSFER

The following information may answer some questions about E-Transfer.  For more information or assistance, please contact the bank you deal with for their help.

Which financial institutions participate in the INTERAC e-Transfer service?

The following financial institutions participate in the INTERAC e-TransferTM service:

• Bank of Montreal
• CIBC
• Royal Bank of Canada
• Scotiabank
• TD Canada Trust

Participating financial institutions offer their Online Banking customers the ability to send INTERAC e-TransferTM and to receive them quickly.

Customers at non-participating Canadian financial institutions cannot send INTERAC e-TransferTM and cannot use Online Banking to receive them; however, they can receive and deposit the transfers using the CertaPay process.

Key features and benefits

•  It's SIMPLE. All you need is the recipient's name and email address or mobile phone number. You can also send money to your Facebook friends using your iPhone, iPad or Android device.
• It's FAST. Recipients are notified of transfers via email or text message notification and can deposit the money immediately through online banking. Even if the recipient doesn't use online banking, for an additional fee*, the funds can be deposited into their account within 3 – 5 business days.
•  It's SECURE. The money is transferred through Online or Mobile Banking and the Interac network, not by email or text message. The shared security question you create with the recipient means only he or she can access the money you send.

In order to send a transfer, you must register for Online Banking at a participating financial institution and know the recipient's name (Long Point Ratepayers’ Association) and e-mail address  (info@longpointrpa.com). Almost anyone with an e-mail address and a Canadian dollar bank account at a Canadian financial institution can receive a transfer.

To get started, you’ll need:

•  Your e-mail address
•  A Canadian dollar bank account at a Canadian financial institution
•  Access to Online Banking
•  Recipients name & email address
•  Select or create a security question and answer to verify that the person receiving the money is the intended recipient (make sure to send the answer to recipient (send to info@longpointrpa.com)
